Meet Mayari Velasquez Creach

Creating healthy, flavorful meals that make people feel good.

I grew up loving to cook when I saw how much food soothes the soul. My passion is to create flavorful and comforting meals for family, friends, and now clients. Over the years, my culinary artistry has blossomed and become evident in every dish I prepare.

I have been working as a professional chef and honing my culinary skills since 2014 when I received my Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. I then received my Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales in 2016. While pursuing my degree, I had the honor of training under an executive chef who was the chef at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Sweden.

I received specialized training in Asian, Indian and classic French cooking. I have also extensively studied beverages and beverage service, including beer, wine and spirits. I have also developed expert skills in grilling, braising, roasting, sautéing and, particularly, baking everything from breads, croissant and pastries to cookies, cakes and scones. I am well-versed in all aspects of food management, preparation and service and is certified in food handling and safety procedures.

I have earned my cooking stripes working at a variety of culinary establishments, from falafel houses and bakeries to fine dining French and Italian restaurants. With Mayari’s Voyage, I am living my dream to create healthy yet flavorful meals that make people feel good. I put my stamp on classic dishes with a unique flair for adding complementary ingredients. I enjoy the adventure of trying new flavors or food sources. With every cooking endeavor, I bring techniques, ingredients and flavors from my Latin American roots. Each meal I create includes a pairing of the perfect beverage for every dish or course.
